Jason Jobe is not your typical candidate. He’s a working man, not a career politician. Jason believes that there are three key components of building a better tomorrow: family, community, and service. He stresses that the well-being of young people and families is critical in restoring the community in which we all would like to live. When the basic needs of a roof over their head, food on the table, health care and childcare are out of reach for ourselves, our friends, and our neighbors, the stress is suffocating and the whole community suffers.
A Note From the Campaign Staff:
We, the volunteers who make up the campaign staff, are pledging our time because we believe in Jason Jobe and his message. Jason not only talks the talk, but also walks the walk. In fact, that is how his entire campaign came to be! Jason regularly walks the streets of his community in Oakland. He knows his neighbors, is involved in local community groups, volunteers with local civic organizations, and patronizes local small businesses. That is precisely what led him to recognize a need in the community. Jason is the first person to tell you that this campaign is not about him; it’s about us. He’s known to say, “Not me, we.”
Jason Jobe’s not a man who will sit idly by while seeing his neighbors suffer. He has a plan to strengthen the community by prioritizing the foundations that build it: families, small businesses, and community groups. With Jason, you’re not just getting lip service. This is why we, the volunteers at Jason Jobe for HOD District 1A, are proud to support Jason and our campaign for a better tomorrow.

Jason spent nearly 20 years watching his kids grow up in Garrett County. Going to soccer games at Mountain Top in Loch Lynn – now those were early mornings! Almost as early as the days he got up to drive all three of his children to First Lego League practices and competitions in Swan Meadow. However, none of his kids would grow up to become computer programmers – no matter how much fun he had teaching them to program. Instead, one began a now 20 year career in entertainment beginning at Our Town Theatre; another took his love for the outdoors from Boy Scouts to the National Forest in Acadia, Maine; the third, now politically involved, herself, is creating a community with a family of her own.
Jason was raised in Florida by a single father, he was a latch-key kid and spent a lot of time on his own or with his grandmother. He would go on to graduate from Jacksonville University, which included a gap year spent in the Navy. He returned to J.U. with a new perspective to complete his Bachelor’s Degree. He then went on to earn his Master’s degree in Computer Science at Florida State.
Now you may be asking yourself, what does a computer programmer know about politics! But Jason has spent his life solving problems, engineering creative solutions, and most importantly, continuing to learn. On his bookshelf you’ll find journals and nonfiction on everything from psychology to economics, philosophy to politics. He’s not afraid to admit when he’s wrong or that he may not have the answer, but he’s always more than willing, and excited, to listen and learn new things.
